Voted this the best answer. If Elena ends up a hypocrite because Bonnie thought of the towns people and their safety over her love relationship, then I'll be ticked.

I agree with Patty. Just because he killed people for Katherine doesn't make it any less bad. Plus, he's done a bunch of bad things that didn't involve Katherine. What did killing Vicky have to do with Katherine? Damon is as bad as he looks which is fine. The problem is how Elena reacts to him. She's chosen to be pals with him, even snickering at his joke of what he did to Caroline. She better understand and forgive Bonnie for just a lie.

Damon killed probably thousands of people and abused her friend, yet Elena forgave him and is friends with him. He never apologized for anything. Think about that.

Ok, first of all are we even watching the same show, here? If eelena doesn't frogive for what she done, then so be it who needs Elena anyway, Bonnie can easily hang out with Caroline. And, let;s not foget that Elena isn't exactly a saint either. And, with the whole Damon then don't get me started. And, learn how to spell!

Second, answering to pattykirsche: My logic is that Boonie was completely consious of what she was going to do. Damon was obsessed with Katherine. He loved her more than he ever loved anyone. It wasn't a real love, I know. But it was love. And if theres anyone here who wouldn't do the same he did for love, please raise your hand.
