Origen (i think I spelled his name correct) said that the bible can be interpreted as literal, allegorical, or spiritual, I leave some things to the early Church Fathers on which is which sometimes. You?

I am definitly a fundamentalist. The Bible's been interpreted in so many ways and taught in so many different ways that I try to take the true meaning from what I read and not take it litterally. For example the parables Jesus taught, I don't believe they really happen but I do believe in their meaning.

I think the life of Jesus and the events of the Isrealites were all true, but anything before Abraham I do not take as the truth. I believe they could be true but there's nothing that proves it. Like the creation story and the flood.

well the bible in the revalation chapter said a mountain will fall from teh heavens and cause one third of the water blood red and a thord of all sea creatures died and a third of all share was destroyed that does not mean an actual mountain the mountain is an asteroid so some things are jsut metaphors

To you it's just a metaphor. There are people that take it literally, which was my point. I thought the point of fundamentalism was that fundamentalists took the Bible literally.

Tiagih I'm not saying I need proof. I'm saying if there is a story that better explains the earths origin I'm going to study it and decide for myself if it is true or not. I believe God created the world
But I don't think the bible gives the true account because Adam and eve was a story weitten by Jewish leaders during the Babylonian exile to give the people an explanation.
