Dean parked his car in front of Evan’s house. Sam had convinced Dean to get over himself and help Evan with his ghost problem. They walked to the house and saw a body covered in bruises and blood. They forced the door open and entered the house. “Evan Trumble!” Dean called while he and Sam snuck through the hallway.
The kitchen and living room were a wreckage. Sam kneeled and picked up a photograph. “Dean” he said. Dean turned around and looked at the picture. “Son of a bitch” he mumbled. They heard stumbling on the stairs and a couple of minutes later Evan appeared in the living room. He was cut and bruised and he looked around bewildered.
“You” he let out difficult when he saw Sam. He realized Sam had lied to him about the so-called article he was going to write, but also knew there were more important things to handle that moment.
“Evan, how do do know this woman?” Sam asked insisting.
“What do you mean, how do I know her? That’s my wife” Evan answered irritated. Sam and Dean glared at each other. “What’s the matter?” Evan asked concerned.
“Maybe you should sit down first” Sam said. Evan sunk down on the couch. “The newspaper said that Erin left her hometown to become an actress, right?” Evan nodded. “But then she disappeared. Have you ever found out what happened?” “No, but that doesn’t matter, because-” Evan replied, but Sam cut him off. “We think we know what happened. No, we do know” he said quick. “What I’m about to tell you might be a lot to take in. The ghost who’s attacking you is your wife”
“Whàt?” Evan said astounded and he stood. “That’s impossible”
“I’m afraid it’s not” Sam continued. “Your wife has been-” Now it was Evan’s turn to cut Sam off. “No, it’s impossible, because Erin is still alive. She was found at the side of a highroad. She’s in prison right now for what that maniac Castiel Novak did, but she’s alive”
“That’s not your wife” Dean said.
“Of course that’s my wife. Who else would she be?” Evan fired angry.
“That’s not your wife” Dean repeated. “Erin disappeared, because a demon named Meg Masters possessed her body. She has used Erin’s body to kill innocent people. Erin is dead and we believed Meg to be as well”
Evan shook his head puzzled. “Demon? Possessed? Is that code language?”
“Erin has been harassing you, because she knows. She’s been trying to warn you, but you couldn’t see or hear her and that made her angry and frustrated. Now that you know the truth, she might leave you alone” Sam explained.
Evan stared in front of him as he remembered the writing on the mirror. I AM DEAD. He blinked. “She’s dead” he realized.
