Cara Delevingne is one of the most beautiful women in the world but, frankly, she looks like something the dog dug up for Halloween in these latest shots.

The supermodel is playing the character of Enchantress and director David Ayer has tweeted the latest image of her in all her terrifying glory.

The Suicide Squad maestro shared the latest image of the British beauty from Empire magazine with the tagline: "She\'s making her own rules."

Cara Delevingne is used to gracing the front of fashion magazines around the world but this is a cover shoot like no other.

Enchantress is an ancient powerful creature who takes over the body of the adventurous and sweet June Moone.

As her rather gothicallly gruesome new look implies, she only has one wish – to unleash unspeakable evil on the world.

"She\'s an ancient sorceress. A feral being," Delevingne told Empire magazine. "She\'s been trapped for so long and now she\'s finally let out.

"June is an adventure-seeker who\'s always wanted some excitement. And she gets what she wished for, in a terrible way."

The film is the latest step in the 23-year-old\'s new career change from modelling to acting.

This year she has already appeared in the indie romantic comedy Paper Towns and played a mermaid in Joe Wright\'s fairytale blockbuster Pan.

But her role in Suicide Squad looks set to change the public\'s perception of her forever as she promises that the film will "blow people\'s brains out."

David Ayer has also proudly posted the latest dazzling image of Jared Leto as the Joker.

In the Suicide Squad trailer we saw him chillingly torturing someone (fan rumours suggest it was Margot Robbie\'s Harley Quinn), but he is undeniably sexy in this shot.

Even son, Leto has also openly revealed just how tough this latest role was, describing playing The Joker as being like "giving birth out of my pr**k hole."

Ayer tagged the tweet: "Another shocking look at Mr. J".

He also shared another exclusive image from the film shoot where we see The Joker and Harley Quinn facing each other in a medical institution with Jared Leto\'s character restrained in a straight-jacket.

Clearly this film is not going to be a sunny and smiley romp.

As well as Leto and Delevingne, Suicide Squad boasts a truly stellar cast.

Will Smith tempers his usual upbeat charm with a taciturn turn as assassin Deadshot, while Termitaor Genisys star Jai Courtney plays Captain Boomerang.

Margot Robbie plays the beautiful Harley Quinn and Ben Affleck puts in an appearance as Batman.

Viola Davis, the award-winning star of How To Get Away With Murder takes the difficult role of Amanda Waller, the government chief charged with keeping teh motley bunch of killers in line.
