Eric Millegan (the actor who played Zack) is gay, but I don't think that's relevant. I'm fairly certain that the "Zack and Goodman" choice was not meant to be serious, just a joke.

I think with a Goodman/Zach ship, it's like with other fanfictional ships. F.ex: Hodgins/Booth, Booth/Zach, Tempe/Angela.

Don't take it too seriously, in the end, you always have to think of the fact that it's only a show. =)
And there isn't a stop in the imagination of people.
