Question about The End in the Beginning...

Towards the end of the episode, when Motley Crue were playing, Zack had something in his hand that looked like a pencil and he seemed to be counting the band members or something. Anyone know what he was doing??

well he's the only person who would count during a concert, or maybe someone in the band or who was onstage was not supposed to be there.
