Bleach Anime Question

Favorite Bleach quotes!

Exactly how it sounds. What are your favorite quotes from the anime/manga Bleach?

"The perfect being, was it? There is no such thing as perfect in this world. That may sound cliche, but it's the truth. The average person admires perfection and seeks to obtain it. But, what's the point of achieving perfection? There is none. Nothing. Not a single thing. I loathe perfection! If something is perfect, then there is nothing left. There is no room for imagination. No place left for a person to gain additional knowledge or abilities. Do you know what that means? For scientists such as ourselves, perfection only brings despair. It is our job to create things more wonderful than anything before them, but never to obtain perfection. A scientist must be someone who finds ecstasy while suffering from that antinomy. In short, the moment that foolishness left your mouth and reached your ears, you had already lost. Of course, that's assuming you really are a scientist. - Mayuri Kurotsuchi

Wow that was long!!!!

I love that quote - it showed that he was a far better scientist than Szayelaporro and somewhat more intelligent. XD

"You came here to rescue her? Don't make me laugh! The only reason you came here, Ichigo Kurosaki, is to fight..." - Grimmjow Jaegerjacques

"What's wrong, Aizen? Did something you can't comprehend happen right before your eyes... Does it scare you?" - Ichigo Kurosaki

It's a great set of lines, though I'd say my favorite out o this bunch is the one from Ulquiorra. He seems analytical at first, but that last sentence says it all. He finds the concept of a soul to be worthless, and shows how weak it is by stating that it provides her no shield to hide behind, no strength to be garnered. It is merely a concept, and one he disdains.

"If you work for me, I'll treat you well. In case you are worried, I am really gentle with female subjects. How about this? I'll give you top class special treatment. I'll only drug you eight times a day and only four hours of machine operations a day. You will eat with your mouth and when you sleep, I'll give you clothes. And I'll stay away from any life-threatening operations if I operate on you. How about it? This is a special offer that I've never offered to any test subject before." - Mayuri Kurotsuchi

Admittedly, I like your quote better, but this one speaks volumes about Mayuri. He's a sadistic bastard, and that's why I like him!

"Sanity? Worthless things like that, I never had them for as long as I can remember!" - Kenpachi Zaraki

Another one that really defines one of my favorite characters. Short, sweet, and too the point as always, not even caring to deny the idea that he has lost his mind.

"You are a fool, Ichigo Kurosaki. You challenge an opponent whose strength terrifies you and think that you can win. It is beyond my comprehension. If it is due to what you Humans call a 'heart', it is because of that heart that you suffer injuries and it is because of that heart that you will lose your life." - Ulquiorra Cifer

Ulquiorra functions on a much more realistic level than Ichigo did, and that's really why I like this one. The idea that one could overcome disaster merely by having the will and desire to obtain victory is absurd, yet Ichigo seems to manage it on a regular basis. It's one of the reasons I'm fond of Ulquiorra, but not of Ichigo.

"Shinigami slay us as if it were their birthright. They pass judgment on us as if led by providence. Under what grounds are you permitted to persecute us Hollows? Is it because we eat Humans? Yes, we eat Humans, but who gave you the right to protect them? You declare that we are evil and therefore kill us. You believe you offer justice, but this is nothing more than hubris. THAT CONCEIT... THAT PROUD FACE! The lot of you... THE LOT OF YOU...!" - Zommari Rureaux

If I had to choose one quote that I truly love best, it's this one. It seems relatively unimportant, but realize that this is the only time you see anyone (shinigami, Hollow, or human) question the reason right to hunt and destroy Hollows. It seems amazing to me that this hasn't gotten more play in the series, since it's one of the most fundamental aspects of what's going on. Arrancar are living proof that not all Hollows aim to destroy and kill on a regular basis - hell, some of them are a whole lot more human than many of the shinigami we've seen.

Meh, I don't like Ichigo too much either, but there is some credit to be given to optimism and faith. That aside, that quote of Zommari's is something that I'm sure many people haven't though about, even if it is a little hypcritical coming from who said it.

I really hope so. I feel that the existential questions of the Bleach universe are very interesting, and frankly, I think the series needs to do a little to dispell the idea that Soul Society is the source of all good and Hueco Mundo the source of all evil.

"There was a time when we ceased to be Human and became beasts. And then in becoming Arrancar, we regained our capacity for reason. One who possesses reason should require a reason to fight." -Neliel Tu Oderschvank

"You are a beast. I cannot accept you as a warrior. I have no desire to be burdened with the life of one who is no warrior." -Neliel Tu Oderschvank

"Carrying a weapon on your shoulder is threatening behavior. If you truly wish to appear strong, hide your weapon as you walk." Neliel Tu Oderschvank

As you can guess, I like Nel :D

But it's so dissapointing how of all the esada, she's one of the one's who we know the least about. I want to know if she was a Vasto Lorde or Adjuchas before turning to an Arrancar D:

I've noticed that the top four espada are all incredibly 'civil', to an extent. They higher the rank, the more human (or the more like a shinigami, as it may be) they seem. And aren't all three of the top (not cero) of the espada Vasto Lordes? Adjuchas look like animals, and Barragan looked like the grim reaper while Stark looked VERY human.

"Do not ask any questions. Do not say anything. You have no rights. What you hold in your hands is the rope to the guillotine above your friends' necks. Understand, woman. This is not a negotiation. It's an order." -Ulquiorra Cifer

My favorite quote of the series so far. Zommari's speech about the slaughter of hollow comes close, but it doesn't even hold a candle to the amount of badassery that was in the air when Ulquiorra said this.

I do love this quote as well. Ulquiorra always stood out as a different type of individual, uncompromising and uncaring. The symbolism of holding a rope to a guillotine couldn't help but weigh heavily on her, but really the strongest words are at the end. "This is not a negotiation. It's an order."

When I first saw him say this, I thought he was a German in life. Seriously, he could have been a human during the Nazi regime of WWII. That's how strongly this quote hit me.
