Short Bio:Mai's real name is Chi which means blood.She thought that name was too dark,so when she became a shinigami she changed it.She died 20 years before Ichigo was born and was imediatlly enrolled in the Soul Reaper Acadamy.She graduated top of her class and went on to become Squad 2 lieutenant.After Rukia was assigned on her mission in the world of the living,Mai followed her and joined Ichigo's school.Her and Ichigo became good friends,but after a few monthes at Karakuru Town she knew she had to go back to the Soul Society.After saying her goodbyes to her friends she left.

Bio:she doesn't remember much about the hollow or who saved her from it and then sent her to the rukon district but that she was very young and afraid. She stayed there for a long time.
