Well this was an unexpected surprise. One of the main Sonic merchandise makers GE Animation, or as they’re also known, GE Entertainment, has let slip on Facebook that they intend to release a Blaze the Cat plush at some point around the end of the year.
Lately GE have been producing some pretty decent plush toys of some of the more obscure and underused characters in the Sonic franchise and it seems that if this to be believed that Blaze might be arriving before the year is out.
We’ll keep an eye on this one and update you with more information when we get it.

wow! these last couple of days have not been slow news days AT ALL. I’m glad.
Seriously, though, I remember every Christmas after I learned about Blaze’s existence (except for the previous 2) had this on top of the list. But, since none of the official companies released her, I got nothing but pooping mechanical reindeers and clothes.
I had a lonely life back then. But this is great news. Let’s hope I can get one before they sell out.
Just got the Metal Sonic plush Wednesday and I’m in lovvve with it!
FINALLY, after so long a Blaze plush! This is without a doubt a must-get for me!
About goddamn time,I wonder how it’ll be cause I want one
Pretty cool!!! Wonder if this desicion was due to fan demand or Sega input on GEAnimation.
If they went to Shadow’s concept and handing Blaze a flamethrower with no reason abandoning her natural fiery powers would be history repeating itself. Side characters don’t really need their own game or we’ll be going through that experience again. Yes, I worry and gaining one’s trust is not easy for me.
Perhaps another Sonic game similar to Sonic Advance 3 with characters that haven’t been played for a while such as Blaze. However, this time let the player choose if they either want to play solo or have a partner to go with them. It’ll be more interesting that way and just make your own choice of what you want to do.
Anyway, I’m curious how she’ll look as a plush.
Why would they even think of using Shadow’s concept for Blaze? When at any given time have they ever shown that they wanted to take Blaze in that direction and that if they gave her a solo game THAT’S what they’d give her?
Knuckles and Tails got their own side games, Tails got TWO, yet no one has ever complained about them, yet Shadow has one that isn’t popular and now NO ONE should get their own side game? Just because one character had a grim-dark game who WAS a dark character to start with doesn’t mean a character who’s completely different to Shadow would get a game that’s note-for-note just like Shadow’s.
Completely agreed, the fact that Shadow the hedgehog wasn’t such a good game doesn’t mean Sega shouldn’t try to make more characters spin-off games, as long as the concept is great and they feel the need certain character deserves a solo game I think they should go for it.
I have always thought that a solo game about Blaze or another game about Knuckles would rock if made properly, a game about Knuckles would help redeem the character and expand his world introducing more echidna characters maybe and a game about Blaze would help explore her dimension, create entirely new environments and attract more female players while conserving the male ones (because Blaze rocks!).
I don’t normally buy plush toys but damn it I’m so getting this!
As much as I’d LOVE that to happen, I don’t think that may be the case. But if it is, then I am more than ready for something like that, or at the very put her in the next main canon game please? a̶n̶d̶ ̶n̶o̶ ̶”̶s̶h̶e̶’̶s̶ ̶f̶r̶o̶m̶ ̶0̶6̶’̶s̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶l̶i̶n̶e̶”̶ ̶b̶u̶l̶l̶s̶h̶i̶t̶ ̶p̶l̶e̶a̶s̶e̶
Not that I don’t like the idea, but that doesn’t really guarantee that is happening in any way. And it’s been a long time since any other character has starred in their own game, so I doubt SEGA is going to do that any time soon. If it were to happen though, don’t worry, I’m pretty sure Sonic Team has given up on the 06 continuity for a long time, so there’s no chance of that being an issue.
Kay, just making sure we were on the same page.
It’s not unheard of, it just doesn’t happen as much as most people would expect. In the end gamers are gamers, it all comes down to their tastes.
Glad you’re having fun but yeah, it really helps attract more female gamers that otherwise wouldn’t be interested on playing these games, mind you this doesn’t mean that Blaze can’t attract male players as well, or that Sonic can’t attract female players, it just have more power towards that demographic.
That’s a huge fallacy but who am I to make people on the internet understand?
