Barbie Movies Question

Does this bother anyone else?

Does it bother anyone that on the poster for Christmas Carol, it says Barbie's FIRST Christmas Movie...um...last I checked, Nutcracker was!

Obviously Mattel doesn't even remember! Or of course putting FIRST on the poster because little girls won't remember Nutcracker or Clara. But really? Does that mean I never saw Snow White or Cinderella as a child because they were way before my time? Well. I did. Because Disney atleast advertised them.

*sigh*

Sorry to rant on you guys. Just had to get that out there.

Hm...Probably, CC called "first Christmas story", because Nutcracker isn't about Christmas...it more about Clara's adventure in Parthenia. And CC, is more about Christmas: three spirits, christmas carols...and all by Christmas theme.

Good point. Thought Nutcracker did seem to have a little theme of Christmas thrown in there so it really kinda urked me when I saw that earler today. lol.

I'd say that's a valid point, but Mattel can't seem to make up their minds on it.

It does irk me a little bit; partly because Nutcracker gets ignored enough as it is, but mostly because Mattel themselves can't even keep up with this "first Christmas Movie" business.

Around the same time that Christmas Carol was released, they brought out a 2-pack featuring Christmas Carol and Nutcracker... advertising them BOTH as "festive movies", which of course would make Nutcracker a Christmas movie, too... And even this year I saw them releasing a 3-pack of "festive movies" with those two and Swan Lake. I'm not sure how Swan Lake qualifies as a Christmas movie, but it still stands.

Now, I will never agree with this habit they have of avoiding Nutcracker because it's "old", and I actually really like Christmas Carol, but come on, Mattel... make up your minds. Is Nutcracker a "Christmas movie" in your eyes or not? I'd say it is; while Christmas isn't the main focus, there's definitely a festive feel to Nutcracker and it's a story which is often associated with Christmas (plus, the only time it ever gets any attention in their magazine is at Christmas time), but that's just me.

They're really stupid! Why on Earth do you think it will be a festive movie?

No. It means First Christmas Movie because it's the first movie based and focused on Christmas. Barbie and the Nutcracker is the first movie ON Christmas but this one is ABOUT Christmas although it's the 2nd ON Christmas.
