Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro?

Which one should I get?

I'll mostly be using it for word processing, web surfing and maybe some image editing.

I'm leaning towards a MacBook, but wondering if I should splurge extra for the Pro.

Depends on how "power user" you are. I find the MacBook just fine for all the tasks you mention. It's a bargain for the price in my opinion.

I have a 17" Pro! SO I would have to say, the PRO!
They are damn easy to upgrade! Why by the oldies??
