I think there's a bit of a disconnection from reality that comes from getting immersed in the anime community (though not always) and it's more so the community and the individuals within the community that create this, not so much the medium itself.
But of course, this doesn't always happen, but I've seen it happen more often than not, myself included..

I don't really like the whole pedophilic aspect of some anime, not just extreme ones like in Boku no Pico or with lolicon or shotacon. I don't like how it's so normalized for underage girls to have so many panty and boob shots and how it's supposed to attract more fans or be entertaining and funny. I know it's just fantasy and animation but it's still gross and can still hurt children in real life.
I understand not all anime is like this but even in some anime I love there's still sexualization of kids and its really gross and needs to stop.

it's the same amount of problems that any work of fantasy can bring. People start testing the limits of reality and sometimes they go overboard. Some people argue it's unrealistic expectations of women and men. But tbh generally you can have someone close to being an anime girl in real life as far as looks go. The only thing is the eyes probably wouldn't be the same. It's not impossible generally attain the physique the characters have. Another effect is that people obsess with it but again people do that with any media.

Bottomline every problem in anime is in generally every form of media. And isolating anime to make a point doesn't make it different than the other medias.
