Name an anime that you thought you weren't gonna like but ended up liking

I remember my friend said Death Note was overrated so when I watched it I thought it was lame but then as the story went on I started to like it and now its my favorite anime.

I sort of forced myself to watch Naruto because I knew how popular it was but I was really expecting to dislike it or find it boring; I was essentially "double-checking" in case there was a 1% chance that I liked it so I could move on with my life and stop going over "what-if" scenarios in my head. I was trying to find videos on my iPod and could only find dubbed episodes (I am not a fan of dubs, but I figured I'd just watch the first episode and be done with it so it wouldn't matter). To my complete surprise I ended up watching the first few episodes and still wanted to know what happened next, so my mindset was essentially, "Screw this, I'm going to find the subbed episodes on the computer", which is a big deal because this was before I got my laptop and the old computer sits literally right in front of the door to the stairs, which is right in front of the front door of the house - anyone could walk in and see what was on the computer, even someone who merely rang the door bell - and it basically feels like an invasion of privacy. I was thinking, "Okay, I'll just watch the next episode to MAKE SURE I don't want to continue, so the computer issue shouldn't matter!" Of course, a few episodes later I realized I still wanted to keep watching, and then I came to the miraculous epiphany that, "Shit, I actually like this, don't I?" And then I stopped being in denial and that was that. XD

The main one for me was Naruto.

I was so reluctant to watch it, my friend forced me to. I thought it looked so stupid.... but then I end up falling in love with it and still to this day it is my favourite anime :)

Another one would be Hetalia.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo

At first it looked like a generic romance drama school comedy, but it turned out to be different from that.

Soul Eater. I used to be very easily scared, so when I heard about Soul Eater I thought it would be TERRIFYING. I forced myself to watch it and at the first episode I got scared a bit, but at the end of the episode, I thought it was extremely funny and by the end of the anime I fell in love with it.

At first, I thought Fairy Tail sounded stupid. The name and and the guy with the pink hair just seemed really stupid to me.
One day I just rolled my eyes and thought: "Why not?", so I watched the first episode. Fairy Tail's one of my favorites now!

There's also Ao no Exoricst, Attack on Titan, and Date A Live, which were the same case.
