Anime
answer this question
Anime Question
Dub killed or improved the humor?
Name animes that you feel the English version either ruined or improved the comedy.
Improved:
*Excel Saga: I've seen this in 3 languages; they're all equally amusing. But Excel talks so f**king fast that the subtitles can barely keep up with her & she says so much that you can only either read or watch, so it's best to watch it in your own language.
*Photon: The Idiot Adventures: the dub was so bad that it was awesome. Yes, that can happen.
*Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman: I don't know if the jokes just didn't translate well or not, but the Japanese language version just wasn't funny.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Murdered:
*Lost Universe: Watch "Toilet Fears" in both languages & tell me it isn't funnier in Japanese.
*Juubei-Chan: The terrible choice in voice actors contributed to this.
~I'm afraid to even try Gintama or Hare + Guu in English, because the fansubs had me in stitches & the voices were perfect.
