I'd like to think so anyway! I do have an awareness of animals being capable of a wide range of emotions (when one of my two guinea pigs died, the remaining one grieved for two whole weeks) and as such I try not to do anything to scare, stress or upset them.

I also try to learn what my pets' preferences are when it comes to certain things, such as their favourite food and treats, and what kinds of attention they prefer (i.e. my first rabbit was very playful and friendly but did not enjoy being picked up, whereas my second rabbit absolutely loved to be cuddled - to the point where she would often be the one to make the first move and jump straight onto my lap!).
