A while ago, i didn't realise that they were actually made of the sheep's SKIN that had been ripped off a carcass, i thought that it was just the wool, like as in the sheep still being alive.
I have a pair of non-branded Uggs, but it's FAKE sheepskin. and it's just as thick and warm, without the ridiculous price tag and the death and grisly procedures involved.
My "Ugg" style boots actually look better than the original, because they have really nice criss-crossing ribbon and come up really high, and they were only $40, not $300!
i actually think mine look better than the original, that are just plain and boring. this girl i know has originals and i thought they were fakes they looked a bit tacky.

I would NEVER, EVER, EVER intentionally buy a pair. NEVER. And they are so totally,completely, utterly, absolutely, positively NOT worth the prices they absurdly put on them.

My mom gave me a pair of imitation Ugg boots that look exactly like the officially labeled "Ugg" ones, and unfortunately they're made of leather, which is something I try to avoid, but is oftentimes given to me...in which case refusing to wear it makes zero difference.

I didn't know they had the actual skin though.

It wouldn't matter to me whether they were made from sheepskin or rice paper: they're ugly shoes and you couldn't pay me to wear them.

I own the cheap $3 knockoffs made of plastic wool stuff. They're not too attractive..

I had a pair with fake wool once. Like yours ^. I like the fake ones coz they are just as warm.

Some have just the wool with no skin.
