as a vegetarian i will obviously recommend you to become one too but first you should know these things:

1. you can live as well and as healthy without meat but you must take care that you eat food that can substitute the proteins you normally get from meat (like beans, peas, and many other)
2. giving up meat is not as hard as you think. at least for me it wasn't -- one day i decided that it was against my principles and i haven't eat meat since.
3. you have to believe in yourself and be strong (especially for the first couple of months when things are a little bit harder)
4. you need to know that - biologically - humans are not carnivores and our bodies don't really need meat (common misconception)

and 5. you have to decide this yourself. ask yourself what is more important to you, what you believe in most. nobody can take this decision for you. the guilt you feel is (maybe) a sign, don't you think? that's how it started for me too:)

anyway, i hope this helps. good luck and i hope you will find the strength to choose the right thing to do.

this may sound harsh, but u might as well eat meat since the poor animal is already dead

it wouldnt be dead if it wasnt killed for food in the first place. when you eat an animal you kill it not directly but you still kill it. Every animal you dont eat is one less animal that is killed and sold. An example is someone hires an assassin to shoot someone they didnt kill the person themselves but thet paid the assassin and if they didnt then the person would still be alive. The fewer people who eat meat means fewer animals killed to meat demand so your logic fails.

Absolutely. I really like life_rehab's answer!

I'm a vegetarian and I love it! The rewards you get from it are great, because you know that you are helping animals and doing something good for you! You really don't have to change your diet much, as long as you eat a balanced diet anyway (like if you were a "starchitarian" and only eat pasta and cookies and stuff). You don't have to worry much about protein since the average person gets twice as much as they need

I say, go for it! :-)

As a vegetarian I would say go for it AFTER you have thought it through & talked to your family. It can be difficult, esp. eating out as most places only serve one or two vegetarian dishes. Also if the rest of your family eat meat then you'll have to have a different meal to them which could be difficult. I'm lucky enough that my parents are vegetarian so it's not an issue. Think it through but remember that although most people think of being vegetarian as the 'healthy' option it isn't unless you make it like that. Hope this helped :) x

I'm not a vegetarian, and I don't think I could be, but if you think you should then I don't see why not.

It's your choice. Try it and see how you go. Just don't make guilt the only reason why you become a vegeterian.

You might want to try it for a while and see how it goes. But at the end of the day it's your own decision that's important; do what you think you should do rather than what other people try to tell you.

If you decide not to do it, then what you can do (if you don't already) is make sure you only buy free range food and support the places that give animals a good life before they die.

If you do go vegetarian, then you might want to try some meat alternatives. There are loads around, and most of them play a good role in making sure you get a balanced diet too. But I'm really suggesting this because you've already said you love meat, so if you give it up you might like to at least eat something similar to it.

before i became a vegetarian i used to hunt and meat was just about all i ate. I liked animals then one day i realized it was wrong to kill animals for food just because i liked the way they taste so i stopped eating meat although if you become a vegetarian you should have a plan and if its hard for you to stop slowly ease off meat. Some things you'll need that you wont get if your vegetarian or will only get a little is vitamin b12 you also have to make sure you get enough protein iron calcium vitamin d and dont eat to much junk food its easy to be a unhealthy vegetarian which is why you need a plan because if you do it right being vegetarian can be very healthy. but if you decide to continue eating meat then you should make sure it comes from places that practice sustainable farming because factory farming is extremely cruel toward the animals and its horrible for the environment. Most meat poultry whatever comes from factory farms including stuff at the store some (most) resturants so whether or not you eat meat factory farms should be cut out of the picture completely.
