I can't believe our teacher allowed us to watch that version back then. I mean, she was a very laid-back, fun teacher - but she risked parents giving her trouble for this. After all, it should be up to parents when their children get to watch movies rated for adults, and by letting us watch it she disrespected that.

Anyway, we didn't have time to watch the full movie and never continued it another day. I guess it was just a time-filler at the end of one class, close to the end of term. Because I remember the class ended right after Tina was murdered. Fuck, was that disturbing. I hated having to go upstairs alone that night, to sleep. We didn't even have a light switch at the bottom of the stairs. I don't remember but I seriously doubt I slept that night. At all. Especially as my older brother kindly mentioned that Freddy could get you through the mattress/bed, too, which I of course didn't know yet, having seen only the beginning. :D
But then I borrowed the video tape from my class mate who'd brought it to school that day, and I watched the rest of the movie. Because the beginning had been nonetheless awesome.

It didn't bother me for long, though. The movie hasn't made me lose sleep any other night, and I think I've had only one nightmare related to Freddy in all my life, and it was just a few seconds of darkness where his blades slashed through it, as in nothing too bad.
