I wanted to like it. I tried. I made it about 30 minutes before turning off the TV and reading reactions on Twitter instead. Apparently, Fox didn't do a great job of advertising that it was a musical - looooots of people were surprised at the beginning of each airing. (Twitter got very confusing when the time zones overlapped.)

I hated the weird pop opening. I hated the kids who were over-acting and yelling their asses off. And most of all, I hated the musical format. The few songs I was there for seemed to drag on for ages. I looked up the ones that were supposedly worth watching later - and the best song from A Christmas Story Live was the Hanukkah song, which wasn't even in the Broadway version. Which leads me to believe that ACS: The Musical was just a suckfest, and if Fox absolutely required a musical format, they should've just hired someone to write a whole new one. Or, you know, tried something original.

Ugh, it sucked
