Frozen What Happened to Kristoff's Parents?

Some websites said that Kristoff's parents died because they froze to death. Is it true? If Disney didn't mention it, then what do you think happened to them?

Well if it isn't because they were frozen to death, I would assume, he was either an orphan and never knew his parents, OR at the start when he is a little kid, maybe he was left behind by the other people? No idea honestly xD
